thin ice ...

Beyond pale, cold blue fingers tunnel snow,
craving still-life sign. Rigid soil bites back,
unforgiving. Claws grip silent frost.

Birds skate circles on chill sky. Exhausted
repetition passes time - reflects on lake,
ice-smooth stuck on zero.

She, frozen to thin hope, shivers.
He, snow-blind, covers winter eyes.

remember how ...

Raucous autumn skirts round carnal flirt;
rain tiered breeze stirs interest wild,
gold-leafs thought, recalls warmer time.
Anticipation senses change is due,
sweet November shower scents first move.

Coy night slides low day to silken shade,
where I dream. Alone – but for you,
teasing velvet from grey sky to wind
around my tired fingertips, lest I
forget how seasons follow one another.

untouchable ...

First words catch impressionable shadow
off-guard. Delusion’s fancy-woman
sighs, “just love me.” Dusty veil jades
years, feeds rueful dark on waste.

Stone wall bids her flirt subdued in shade,
learn to beg scant ease at pining table.
Her shape, a finger puppet skinned alive,
is comely though removed from touch

of hand or eye that says, “please love me,”
dances to spilled flesh and hollow wax,
sad pleasure’s wane. Tonight her shadow
fancies building fires, removing veils.

pulse and ...

sun are sighing, love,

fire-falling liquid motion, see
wild ocean spilling lace on placid shore.

night is stirring, love,
cool touch soft on evening skin,
shall we walk or stay, blush either way?

wavesong steadies love,
ancient pulse lifts breathing sky,
enveined rhythm. Here are we - feet sinking.

in time ...

We lived for tomorrow, I begin where you end.
Midnight’s perfect circle holds light gently, still.
Out of time and mind we are - beloved essence,
embrace curved torrent – taste of honest will

and you inside no-place. Beyond whole. Nameless
bright with ancient stars, slip streamed and wild
yet gentle on my fine earthskin and quiet dreams
entwined – serpents twist thin hours – undefined.
